Instead of a traditional guest book, my friend and I are creating a wedding wish tree. Our customers can fill sheets of paper and hang on the tree.

We did not quit, but very similar take on a Japanese tradition. It was a small sign on the stand: "Tie a wish on a branch of A & B". This is not a poem, poems and sayings of the IMO at weddings are the most common, but it worked and it short and simple.
